Improving our Communities Through Better Housing

CHIP supports property owners who have demonstrated their commitment to providing high-quality housing at affordable rates to tenants. Far from being real estate speculators, CHIP members have owned their properties for over 20 years on average. CHIP members value the communities they serve and invest in homes so that residents are proud to live in them. Tenants who live in a CHIP member’s property can expect their rentals to be well-maintained, affordable, and community-oriented.

CHIP believes in the value of promoting trust and goodwill between small property owners and their tenants to build a New York City which feels like home for everyone. Through capital investment to maintain and improve housing, CHIP members are building a better community for all New York residents. Since the 1970s, investments made by CHIP building owners have drastically changed New York’s affordable housing stock for the better, and CHIP looks forward to continuing its support for the tenants of rent-stabilized housing. By bringing tenants and property owners together, CHIP promotes better and safer housing for all New Yorkers.
